Finding YOUR best coach.

Finding the right coach for you can be daunting. And I’m not here writing this to advocate myself as the best coach for you. On the contrary. It serves in my best interests to help YOU find the best coach for YOU.

Here’s a little secret. I don’t take on every client or coachee that approaches me. Crazy, no? I’m sure less scrupulous people will wonder, who turns down easy money? Afterall, the client or coachee know from the outset that they have the unique answers to their situations, and as Coach, I am present to ask the pertinent questions of self-discovery.

So why don’t I just take the money, ask some clever questions and run?

Sometimes our unique qualities as humans simply mean that we’re not a good match for each other. We experience it from an age where our different approaches to playing in the paddling pool leads us to understanding those around us whom we like and dislike. We begin to understand how others play/work/operate and in turn, understand ourselves better. In this sense, ‘the paddling pool of life’ – when it’s not being muddied or stirred up through too much play – is one big reflective mirror when we peer into it.

The paddling pool of life – when it’s not being muddied through too much play – is one big reflective mirror when we peer into it…

It’s the same with coaching. Sometimes, for reasons often unbeknown to us, we do not gel with that person opposite us. As your coach I want you to tap into the best version of you. I want you to look at your reflection and see your unique qualities. When there is that correct fit between a client and coach, the waters in the paddling pool of life become calm, steady and symbiotic which allow you to truly see the real you.

So what am I suggesting in amongst these metaphors? I’m suggesting that we trust. That you trust your instincts.

As the coach, trust me that I know when to say no.

And in turn, trust you, as the coachee, that you too have the agency to walk away.

And remember, there are no mistakes, only learnings… so with each search, with each website, with each chemistry call, you are learning not only about your potential coach but moreover about you.

Your path of discovery has already begun. But then, deep down, on an instinctive level, you already knew that, didn’t you?!

And whilst you’re here…

If your instincts from this article tell you that I’m the right fit for you, then book yourself a mapping session with me today. Or do you have difficultly trusting your instincts? Leave a comment – let me know your thoughts. I’m always curious to learn more…
